Paula Fox's Life
Columbia University
Paula Fox was born on April 22, 1923 New York City. Her parents are writer Paul Hervey and Elsie da Sola Fox.
She traveled to many places like Cuba and California with her grandmother, because of all the traveling she's done, it was hard for her to get a good education, but she was still able to learn Spanish fluently and was encouraged to read avidly.
She married Richard Sigerson in 1948, and had three children; Adam, Gabriel, and Linda; the couple divorced in 1954. Later on Paula came back to New York to attend Columbia University from 1955-1958, however, because of financial difficulties, she was unable to complete her degree. A few years later Paula decides to get re-married to a man named Martin Greenberg in 1962.
After many occupations, Paula became a teacher of writing workshops and a professor of literature at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She is now 89 and is also a great-grandmother to Frances Bean Cobain.
